One of the finest braided fishing lines you'll find anywhere. Built for tiny baits, long casts and true ultralight control. Made for size 500–1000 spinning reels and BFS baitcasters when ordinary braid is simply too thick.
Our new 2LB Appalachian Silk measures only 0.04mm / 0.0016" in diameter—putting it among the thinnest commercially available braided fishing lines.
This is line built for the far end of finesse fishing: micro jigs, tiny plastics, weightless baits and presentations where every thousandth of an inch matters.
Appalachian Silk is a rarity in fishing line—an ultra-fine braid that very few companies truly produce at these diameters.
Less diameter means less air resistance and less drag through the guides, which translates into noticeably better casting distance with small baits from weightless to 1/16 oz and beyond.
It’s made for real creek fishing, where a few extra feet can be the difference between spooking fish and getting bit.
Built from high-modulus PE fibers using a tight 4-strand weave, Appalachian Silk stays compact and consistent under tension—keeping friction low through micro guides and improving cast efficiency on ultralight gear.
The new 2LB Micro Braid measures just 0.04mm (0.0016").
Our 4LB Micro Braid is only 0.05mm (0.0019")—more than three times thinner than typical 4LB nylon monofilament around 0.17mm.
That incredibly small profile reduces line drag, improves spool efficiency and helps tiny lures carry farther without needing heavier weight.
The compact 4-strand construction also improves spool lay and reduces line slap—especially important on shallow ultralight spools and BFS reels.
Appalachian Silk is rated conservatively for ultralight applications. Our break testing showed strength well beyond the line class printed on the spool.
In the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, where mist clings to the valleys and ancient oaks whisper secrets, there was a tale of a group of seasoned fishermen who discovered a remarkable gift from nature.
Deep within the forest, they encountered a giant writing spider, known in the local lore as the Weaver of the Web. The spider spun its silk with an artistry and strength unlike any other, weaving strands that shimmered like moonlight on the river.
The fishermen, recognizing the potential, carefully harvested the silk and wove it into braided fishing line—crafting something so strong and supple it could handle fierce currents and the most elusive fish.
And that delicate sheen with unbreakable strength became legend in their community… a reminder that the creek will give you something special if you respect where it comes from.
